What is Comprehensive Crossfiber Technique?

Comprehensive Crossfiber Technique (CCT) is a technique that was inspired by the work of Thérèse Pfrimmer of Ontario, Canada, and developed by Victoria Ross, authorized Master Pfrimmer Instructor.  It is also called Pfrimmer Deep Muscle Therapy® (PDMT). CCT and PDMT are comprised of a highly refined system of corrective treatment designed to aid in the restoration of damaged muscles and soft tissue in the entire body. Using a specific series of cross-tissue movements applied to muscles, a fully trained Crossfiber Therapist concentrates on all layers of muscle that have become depleted of their normal blood and lymphatic flow. Crossfiber Therapy establishes a foundation for corrective massage upon which other troubleshooting techniques may be added. Since tight, adherent muscles are the cause of many ailments, it is designed to cause corrective changes to damaged or adherent muscles and the adjacent soft tissues.

Where muscles have become “dry,” CCT brings lymphatic fluid toward the muscle cell. It softens hard fibrous muscle which restricts joint range of motion, and provides a dramatic form of passive exercise for those who have been injured or ill. It can speed recovery and promote maximum improvement where traditional treatments leave off. It has been proven valuable in prevention as well as correction of many serious conditions. To name a few: ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease), Lupus, TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint Syndrome), Strokes, Scoliosis, Multiple Sclerosis and Fibromyalgia. Because of its positive benefits to all of the body’s soft tissue, it may be described as the most comprehensive form of corrective body work available today.

This full-body across-the-muscle-fiber method combines a series of detailed strokes with a full-coverage “three-pass” system that utilizes the body’s own “time-release,” systemic healing responses. It is highly-effective in addressing pain and a wide range of muscular and soft-tissue conditions and serves as an excellent foundation for other types of corrective bodywork. Training in this technique is being offered through the International Institute for Corrective Muscle Therapy, Inc., as the Level 1 course under their Crossfiber Corrective Muscle Therapy® Program.

The LaserTouchOne™ For Massage Therapists

This class is a 3 hour CE class for Massage Therapists - Date to be announced!

How LaserTouchOne™ Works
The best way to find relief from pain and inflammation is to stimulate the cell’s natural ability to repair and heal itself. To do this, the cell must produce ATP, the primary energy molecule of the cell. Here is how the LaserTouchOne™ facilitates this process:

Micro-Current Electrical Stimulation
Injured cells take on a positive charge, which differs from the surrounding negative charge of the healthy cells. Non-injured cells will try to restore normal electrical function, but the body’s electrical system is subject to the laws of electricity which dictate that electricity takes the path of least resistance – which is around the injured tissue. Studies have shown that delivering micro-current e-stim to the injured area accelerates ATP production, protein synthesis, and membrane transport in the cells. The tissue is therefore able to repair and heal as well as remove toxins from the cell. The LaserTouchOne™ delivers the ‘spark’ that is needed to help the cell normalize all functions.

Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT)
The low level laser, or cold laser, of the LTO delivers photonic (light) energy to the cell. This energy is absorbed by the cell and causes an increase in the production of ATP. The increased levels of the energy molecule allows for the normalization of the cell function, pain relief, and healing. The cells are also now able to communicate with one another: damaged cells absorb energy from the laser and create new enzymes that allow for the healing and relief of pain; damaged adjacent cells are affected by the enzymes, and then, in turn, produce more of the same bio-chemical reaction which lets those cells begin to normalize and relieve pain as well. This is called a ‘signaling cascade’.
